While condemning the Christmas market attack in Germany, Trump was asked if it would reignite his plan to ban Muslim immigration to the US, or the establishment of a Muslim registry.
“You know my plans. All along, I’ve been proven to be right, 100 percent correct. What’s happening is disgraceful,” Trump said, adding that the violence is “an attack on humanity and it’s got to be stopped.”
Later on Wednesday, transition spokesman Jason Miller stated that the president-elect’s words “might upset those with their heads stuck in the politically correct sand.”
“President-elect Trump has been clear that we will suspend admission of those from countries with high terrorism rates and apply a strict vetting procedure for those seeking entry in order to protect American lives,” Miller said.
Everyone is in uproar
Australia is ‘cleansing’ itself of its convict history, sending New Zealanders back even after completing sentences and remaining crime free for decades. Even people who have lived in Australia since they were babies are sent back. Supposedly this policy applies to all, but the statistics don’t show that.
Nobody is in uproar
The reality is, all countries want only the best and wealthiest citizens it can get. With epic looming levels of debt to service, every country wants the rich. Hence special ‘Investment’ type visas. Frankly, if I were that rich I would domicile in the lowest tax rate country and travel a lot between multiple homes. Surprise! large multinational corporations do the same.
It is natural to want only the best for your country and to evict or keep out the undesirables. The problem comes when there are not enough rich people to entice and there are too many disenfranchised poor people to be shared. Do we follow Britain’s previous solution and deport them all to ‘New’ Australias and walk away? After all, that solution cured nothing but did manage to enrich the wealthy – again!
There is no country large enough to contain the disenfranchised. That is why the ‘Refugees’ from Africa are swarming into Europe and consuming the long desired dream in the manner of locusts.
The answer lies in providing the ‘American dream’ to all. Allowing everyone an equal chance and opportunity to advance themselves and reap what they sow. The current system uses the mass population as cheap labour and consumption slaves to enrich a few.
Should we patrol our borders to keep out undesirables? Yes, makes sense not to let in threats to our way of life.
Should we evict the riff raff? Sorry, the riff raff comes from the way you treat people, not their nationality or religion.
Should we allow in only rich people? No. They employ mechanics, accountants and gardeners and we need those people as well.
If the rich treated the poorer people well, then crime would be reduced and the poor would be contributors to the economy in ways that are not just financial. For every tax cheque sent in, someone has the menial job of opening the envelope.
Crime stems from people being deprived and excluded from having a meaningful life. Terrorism is the next level of deprivation.
Instead of investing in war, let’s invest in providing genuine opportunity for all.
