There is a fake news story floating around the internet, purporting to be a speech by Vladimir Putin to the Duma. The reality is that this speech echoes the public sentiment. If only politicians actually spoke on behalf of the public instead of their corporate sponsors (Why don’t they wear jackets with sponsor logos like the Formula 1 drivers?).
People travel to foreign lands for many reasons, and the recipient country does it’s best to welcome them, but for the newly arrived to expect their host country to change into their ‘old’ country displays arrogance and naivete in it’s most extreme form.
Either you chose to go to the country or you were kindly resettled as a refugee, in either case, you have no right to object to their customs. I’ve been to France – they speak French, the United States of America still use imperial measurements and I can’t buy a bacon sandwich in an Islamic country.
Either adapt to your new country and embrace their customs, traditions and culture or go home. It’s not difficult to understand.
Without further ado…..let me introduce, the Fake Vladimir Putin (please applaud now)
On February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:
“In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Shari ‘a Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’.
We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honourable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians.”
